Edthena Named SIIA CODiE Finalist For Best Professional Learning Solution 2016

The Software & Information Industry Association announced this week that Edthena is a finalist for the 2016 CODiE Awards in the Best Professional Learning Solution category.

The CODiE Awards are the premier awards for the software and information industries and have been recognizing product excellence for 30 years.

“We’re proud to be included again this year as a CODiE finalist,” said Adam Geller, Edthena CEO. “This is like an Oscar nomination in the software industry.”

“Every year the list of CODiE finalists is a case study of how the ed tech industry is using new technologies in combination with knowledge about how people learn to respond to customer needs. They’re opening doors for learners of all ages.” said Karen Billings, vice president and managing director of SIIA’s Education Technology Information Network.

In the past year, Edthena has released several new features which were considered as part of the judging process.

Included for consideration were interactive dashboards to track teacher growth over time, an integration with the Gates Foundation’s METX video library, and the Edthena iOS app to enable users to upload videos directly from a mobile device.

“We think that the future of professional development includes teachers analyzing their own practice instead of just consuming static PD content,” said Geller. “It’s great to have our vision validated by industry experts charged with selecting the finalists.”
